25 Years Ago, in France, the rap group 113 was honored twice at the Victoires de la Musique awards, thanks to their song “Tonton du bled.” Back then, a Peugeot 504 appeared in the music video of the song, which has become a classic in French rap. To celebrate “Tonton du bled,” the Peugeot Design Lab team imagined several “new” Peugeot 504 models with extremely bold designs. All the photos of these Peugeot 504s have been published on Instagram.
The designers at Peugeot, led by Matthias Hossann, got creative with the Peugeot 504, the iconic model of the past. On the cover of this story, there is a predominantly white 504 Break “Tonton du bled” with a smooth body and a roof loaded with numerous suitcases. As for the doors of this same 504 Break, they are of different colors—blue, yellow, and red—as if they were pieces retrieved from a junkyard.
Peugeot also set a record, since broken, at Pikes Peak with the 208 T16 driven by Sébastien Loeb in 2013.
The connection between 2013 and 113 was easy to find to create a stunning Peugeot 504 Pikes Peak-style with very aerodynamic and oversized body elements. This 504 has been stripped of its doors, which have been replaced with side reinforcement bars. The interior, also upholstered with the Tati brand logo, is equipped with the Hypersquare steering wheel.
This other Peugeot 504 Break “Tonton du bled” in pink, also lowered, features, among other things, fender flares, a very imposing spoiler, and a modern Peugeot three-claw light signature. Unlike the refined family version revised to illustrate the hip-hop group’s song, this 504 is unrecognizable.
Finally, the third Peugeot 504 Break “Tonton du bled” would be perfect for drift competitions, even with its roof rack overloaded with luggage. Let’s applaud the fun and friendly initiative taken by the Peugeot Design Lab to celebrate the 25th anniversary of 113’s hit song.
