Until December 31, 2024, the Chinese electric car Leapmotor T03 is priced at $15,900 in France. Distributed in Europe through a partnership between Leapmotor and Stellantis via the joint venture Leapmotor International, the T03 stands out in terms of pricing, especially against the Dacia Spring and Citroën ë-C3.

Assembled in China, the Leapmotor T03, a city car, is not eligible for the environmental bonus. To boost its 2024 sales figures in the final days of the year, Leapmotor and Stellantis are offering a $4,300 discount equivalent to the 2025 environmental bonus. As of now, the Dacia Spring, also 100% electric and manufactured in China, is available in France starting at $20,100. With a price of $15,900, in France, the T03 could therefore be selling like hotcakes this December 2024.

Launched in France last September, the 3.63-meter-long Leapmotor T03 is also more affordable than the Citroën ë-C3, which is currently priced at $20,500, including the $4,300 ecological bonus.

Well-equipped, the Leapmotor T03 boasts a power output of 70 kW/95 hp and 158 Nm of torque. The battery capacity of this city car is 37.3 kWh, providing a range of 265 km on the combined WLTP cycle. In urban WLTP mode, the range increases to 395 km. The T03 comes with a 6.6 kW charger and supports DC charging at 48 kW. The home charging time is about 3.5 hours to go from 30% to 80% battery.

Finally, it’s almost Christmas early for potential buyers of a small electric car. At a price of $15,900, the Leapmotor T03 is expected to be a big hit at the end of the year, as such an electric car is clearly well-suited for city use where it is easier to recharge the battery, and high range is not required. It’s also challenging to maneuver a larger SUV in urban areas. Let’s conclude by noting that other automakers, such as MG and Fiat, are offering attractive year-end discounts on in-stock vehicles.
