Lando Norris wins the Abu Dhabi GP, the final race of the 2024 F1 season. Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, who started from the back of the grid due to a penalty, complete the podium. With this victory, Lando Norris secures the 2024 F1 Constructors’ title for McLaren Racing. For the Alpine F1 Team, Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan finished in 7th and 15th places, respectively.

Starting from pole position at the 2024 Abu Dhabi GP, just ahead of his teammate Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris led from the first corner. Behind him, Max Verstappen, starting from 5th on the grid behind Carlos Sainz, made a lightning start but collided with Oscar Piastri. Then, Sergio Perez retired after being hit by Valtteri Bottas. A short VSC procedure was then implemented to remove the Mexican’s car. Max Verstappen received a 10-second penalty for causing the collision with Oscar Piastri, who was also handed a 10-second penalty later for causing contact with Franco Colapinto.

After 20 laps, Lando Norris led the Abu Dhabi GP ahead of Carlos Sainz, George Russell, and Charles Leclerc. After the pit stops, Lando Norris maintained his lead. Later, Valtteri Bottas once again made a mistake, missing his braking point and causing Kevin Magnussen to spin. Bottas retired from the race, with no seat confirmed for 2025 but could potentially replace Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes-AMG F1 Team.

After the 2024 Abu Dhabi GP, Max Verstappen, who secured the title at the Las Vegas GP, finishes the season as the 2024 F1 World Champion with 437 points. Lando Norris is the runner-up with 374 points, and Charles Leclerc is third with 356 points. The 2024 Constructors’ title goes to McLaren Racing (666 points), followed by Scuderia Ferrari (652 points) and Red Bull Racing (589 points).
