On the sidelines of the opening of the Brussels Motor Show (January 10 to 19), Renault Group achieves a remarkable double victory.
The duo of the 100% electric Renault 5 (Renault 5 E-Tech electric) and Alpine A290 “stunned” the competition, knowing that journalists awarded 353 points to the electric city car and its sporty variant. Thanks to obtaining this “Car of the Year 2025” trophy, Renault and Alpine secure a highly coveted sales argument for automakers. In terms of registrations in France, from late September to December 2024, according to the CCFA (Comité des Constructeurs Français d’Automobiles), 9,973 100% electric Renault 5s have already been registered. While the Dacia Duster might have been a surprise candidate during the “Car of the Year 2025” election, the Romanian SUV finished 5th, behind the Citroën C3 / ë-C3 duo, the small Hyundai Inster, and another 100% electric SUV, the Kia EV3 (pictured below), which finished 2nd.
