Each year brings anniversaries for car manufacturers and so-called “historic” models. This year, 2025, will be marked by the 70th anniversary of the Dieppe-based brand founded in 1955 by Jean Rédélé. Since 1973, Alpine has been part of the Renault Group. In 2025, numerous events will be organized to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Alpine Cars. In motorsports, Alpine will not miss the opportunity to celebrate this anniversary.
In 1955, it all began for Alpine with the A106, a sporty evolution of the Renault 4 CV. In 2025, we are very far from the A106, as Alpine Cars has taken the turn of 100% electric with the Alpine A290. In 2026, the new 100% electric A110, in coupe and roadster, is expected. This year, 2025, will also be an opportunity for Alpine to launch its first 100% electric SUV, the A390. Regarding the events that will honor Alpine and Jean Rédélé in 2025, the Dieppe gathering on May 30, 31, and June 1, 2025, will be unmissable.
The celebration will be total in Dieppe on May 30, 31, and June 1, 2025, thanks to the IDéA (Initiative Alpine Dieppe) association, the CAD, and the AAA, knowing that the Alpine Cars brand will be officially present in Seine-Maritime to celebrate its 70th anniversary during the Ascension weekend.
Closer to us, as part of the Rétromobile 2025 show (from February 5 to 9), Alpine Cars and the Renault Group should undoubtedly highlight their historical heritage. This should be confirmed in the coming days.
A bit later, in early April 2025, the Tour Auto will also celebrate the 70th anniversary of Alpine on the most beautiful roads of France. Many A110 berlinettes of yesteryear will cross France, from Paris to Nice from April 6/7 to 12.
Let’s move on to motor racing. Unfortunately, 2025 will be the last year for Renault as the engine supplier of the Alpine F1 Team. However, the F1 cars that will be driven this year by Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan should feature a “70” logo on their bodies. We can also imagine that a special 70th anniversary livery will be on the program for the Alpine F1 Team for one or more Grand Prix. Let’s remember that Alpine was at the origin of the future engagement of Renault Sport in F1 (1977), starting in the early 70s.
In the FIA WEC World Endurance Championship, after a promising first year, the A424 LMDh Hypercar will, of course, be present at the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 14 and 15). We can hope that Alpine Cars will take the opportunity to celebrate the memory of Jean Rédélé there. On the sidelines of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the future A110 Coupe and Roadster 100% electric could perhaps make its first appearance, but nothing official at the moment. Before the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the French automaker could gain resounding international visibility, as in 2021, with a new historic parade that could bring together on track the models of the past, the current ones, as well as an F1 car and the A524 Hypercar.
Finally, in the coming days, Alpine Cars should present the program of festivities for its 70th anniversary. Let’s hope that the memory and spirit of Jean Rédélé will be celebrated as they should be, although we have no doubt about this point.
