The future 100% electric SUV Mercedes-Benz GLC will not bear the two letters “EQ,” as the German manufacturer has just revised its strategy regarding the naming of its electric cars. Regardless, the German brand unveils the first photos and technical information about the 100% electric GLC expected for 2026.
It is in a heavily camouflaged manner, like paint, that the future 100% electric Mercedes-Benz GLC is shown, in the snow. Thus, it is difficult to describe the style of the future 100% electric German SUV equipped with the EQ Technology family systems. Let us remember that the legendary G-Class also recently went 100% electric.
However, the star brand will, in terms of design for its future 100% electric SUV, follow continuity with lines that should be quite similar to the thermal and hybrid versions of the Mercedes-Benz SUVs. Of course, to optimize airflow treatment and achieve the best possible range, the 100% electric Mercedes-Benz GLC will have a smooth appearance, especially with its flush door handles.
Regarding the technical information communicated by the German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz about the future 100% electric GLC, we only learn that it will be equipped with electric batteries operating under a voltage of 800 V and can reach up to 320 kW of power on fast charging stations, mainly in Europe, especially on highways. Moreover, in her action plan established to support the European automotive industry, Ursula von der Leyen stated yesterday that she wants to help develop the European charging network.
Christoph Starzynski (Vice President of Vehicle Development and Integration – Mercedes-Benz Group AG) gives us more details:
“Our new electric GLC is a car without compromise – and we test it just as uncompromisingly. During winter tests in Sweden, our new fully electric GLC demonstrated its reliability and robustness, even in extreme conditions. It represents innovation and quality – a fact that we proved in the Scandinavian winter.”
Finally, by the end of 2025, the new 100% electric Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV should be unveiled without camouflage and in the finest details, as its commercial launch is set for 2026. So, patience…
