In January, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) awarded 5 stars to the Tesla Cybertruck, a very good rating for the 100% electric pickup truck cherished by Elon Musk. The latter, struggling with image issues in recent weeks, can thus find some consolation, knowing that the American manufacturer has just released a video of its own crash test for the Cybertruck. Indeed, following the official crash test carried out by the NHTSA, Tesla wanted to test the Cybertruck to prove its solidity and the safety it offers to its occupants, thanks to the “Tesla Crash Lab.”
The dummies used during the crash test of the Tesla Cybertruck organized by Tesla certainly suffered, but according to the NHTSA, the pickup truck successfully passed the frontal crash test at 35 mph (about 56 km/h). Of course, other collision tests were carried out by the NHTSA, which therefore awarded 5 stars to the 100% electric pickup truck.
A few days ago, in Los Angeles, as a form of protest against Elon Musk, another Cybertruck was vandalized. Click “Play” below to see the Tesla Cybertruck suffer for a good cause.
Important clarification: the NHTSA crash test of the Tesla Cybertruck, and the one conducted at the “Crash Lab,” do not take into account collisions with pedestrians or cyclists. However, given the size of the vehicle, its weight, and its massive front end, the 100% electric pickup truck could prove to be very dangerous in the event of a collision with pedestrians. Regardless, the Cybertruck is a very safe electric vehicle for its occupants.
Finally, a few days ago, Tesla released another video in which brand new electric cars leave the factory to park themselves, without a driver, in a storage area, thanks to the autonomous driving system FSD (Full Self-Driving) known as “Autopilot.” Discover or rediscover it by clicking on the image above.
